La Fabrique des écritures is a place of creation and exchange of ideas, dedicated to expanding the notion of “writing”, publishing, and knowledge production in the social sciences. La Fabrique’s aim is to advocate for and propel works by social scientist dedicated to exploring experimental and sensorial methods of doing research and of creative fabrication.
La Fabrique brings in dialogue an exciting interdisciplinary mix of researchers, artists, filmmakers, and cultural organizations. We are located in the historic Vieille Charité, a former 17th century hospice in the Panier district of Marseille. Situated at this historic landmark alongside our partners the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS Marseille campus), the Centre Norbert Elias, the Vieille Charité Museum, Le Miroir Cinéma, and The International Center of Poetry makes La fabrique a unique and exciting interdisciplinary hub dedicated to collaboration and cross-pollination of anthropologists, sociologists, historians, linguists, and artists engaged in the production of film or sound documentaries, photography and contemporary art exhibits, and graphic novels.
La Fabrique is supported in part by the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS), Avignon Université, Aix-Marseille Université (AMU) and the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS).
